Kruger National Park is one of the largest and best-known national parks in Africa, iconic for its diversity and the wildlife experiences that it offers visitors. Adjacent to the national park is Greater Kruger, an extra 860,000 acres of protected area; entirely unfenced, wildlife is free to go between the national park and the Greater Kruger giving them plenty of extra space to roam. Made up of mainly private game reserves, Greater Kruger offers just as fantastic wildlife encounters but sees lower visitor numbers, so it generally gives a more exclusive and more intimate safari experience for those who stay there instead of the national park itself.
Wildlife that you’ll see in the Greater Kruger include black rhino, white rhino, zebra, hippo, cheetah, leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffes, hyenas and so much more.
